- THE JOURNEYMy journey started in January 2015. I weighed in at 76.9KG and 27.7% body fat. I was pretty unhappy with my body and needed a change. I started training once a week, as part of a group gym session. I really enjoyed the variety and challenges of the sessions. I then up’ed this to two sessions a week. In February I began training with Luke. I started with one personal training session a week (as well as maintaining the 2 group sessions). Within 2 months I started to self-monitor my nutrition. I thought less food and more training was best. This was not the case as my results went backwards and my weight increased to 79.4kgs at 28.4% body fat. With Luke’s expertise and wealth of knowledge I undertook a nutrition and training program with him. My goals were to drop body fat. Since taking on nutrition and training with Luke over the last 24 months, I am the happiest and healthiest I’ve ever been. I was able to reduce my weight to 69kg at 16.1% body fat. I have easily maintained my fat loss and have recently gained 3.6kgs of lean mass in the last 7 weeks consuming between 2,000 and 2,500 calories per day. In total I have dropped 11.6kg in body fat and I feel amazing. It was hard work at the start. Firstly to retrain my mindset. Scale weight is not the goal – less food and calories are not the key – dietary fats are not the enemy. I had to also accept that excessive cardio is not the answer. Now I lift heavy- sweat my butt off- eat regularly- stay focused – remain consistent and enjoy every goal achieved. (Be it visually or strength based).
