The best nutrition plan in the world. This is what we are all searching for isn’t it? The best nutrition plan to help us drop fat, build muscle and have optimal health.
You can stop searching because I have some news.
There is no such thing as the ‘best’ nutrition plan that works 100% of the time.
Nutrition is a fluid process. There are a number of factors that can determine your body’s needs for particular nutrients and ratios. I have listed some of these factors below. I look at these factors when determining someone’s ability to get results.
– Genetics
– Body Fat
– Lean Mass
– Stress
– Digestion
– Sleep
– Training volume/ intensity/ frequency/ duration
– Liver health
– Inflammation
– Immune system health
– Hormonal health
All of these things have an effect on your nutrition. That may mean you need more of something or less of something to see results. These factors are also not static. They change and can change often. A change in training program, digestion or stress will require a change in nutrition. This unfortunately means that there is no best nutrition plan for everyone, all of the time. There is only the best nutrition plan for you at a particular time. This is why people might often see results initially with a plan but plateau and potentially start going backwards. Things have changed but your nutrition hasn’t kept up.
If you are 30% body fat and your goal is to get to 10%, no singular nutrition plan will get you there. The plan that gets you from 30% body fat to 25%, may not get you from 25% to 20%. There may be 4-6 different nutrition strategies a long the way.
The key thing is to not get sucked into the belief that there is one best nutrition plan. Doing your research or hiring a coach that can help you is a great way to start. From there your nutrition should be tweaked and altered accordingly to help make sure you see results.
